nothing surprises me,i remember the older cable boxes the emu would switch off when powering on/off at rear of box the odd time.did you power the box off at rear or just remote?

at rear bcos if i do it by remote it don't come on in morning when box and router turned off together so i turn off on back wait 4 router to come on then turn it on,mad init

have you tried leaving router on and remote off with box only as it is probably losing address when off for long periods.

Try Switching on from back then switch off from mains and restart from mains,it's the only way it switches on normally for me.

ye tried that still the same but it doesn't matter how long its turned off 4 it wont come on if both get turned on together, think its just a dodgy box as it gave me a bit of grief on cable side as well but i cant really complain as i get my fair share out of it

sounds like the onboard power to keep the settings id losing its power while switched off.
heres the best solution....... dont turn it off!!
                    or the router....

yep leave it all switched on 24/7.

older pcs have a battery than can be changed onboard but when thats dead you have to re-do the date and bios settings on a restart so i assume with these boxes its the same kind of thing.

                    regards dave

Starviews will put cccam into a sleep mode if you put on standby or have it on a non sub channel for more than an hour.
When you change to a subscription channel or resume from standby you may have to wait for a minute or so for the connection to server to resume.
If there is ever an update again hopefully this could be addressed.
This also did appear to be addressed for the Starview 9600 so as the cable side is off you could put the starview 9600 firmware in and your sat side is fixed but absolutely no cable side. You can however just change the firmware again if need be.
Once upon a time it was all about backdoor 0 passwords, now its only about the rsa keys !!!!!!!
