Why has a whole thread been removed?

There is also a legal obligation by those hosting and moderating a forum to ensure nothing that can be put up as slanderous is aired. In short if someone posts on a forum that x is a racist, facist bunch of coonts and one of those coonts complains the moderators can be held responsible and face a hefty fine. Even if it is true it has to be proven that it was in others interest to know these facts.

just to add, its devilfish who gets all the legal flack, like just before the auto s/w forum was removed, threatening emails, letters etc, the same will go for racist remarks, slander etc, at the end df is the owner of the site so hes ultimately responsible for what goes on, so its down to the mods, admin assistants to make sure things run ok, so if this means we have to remove posts what we think are dodgy then thats how it has to be, also members who care about dk need to keep their eyes peeled for dodgy posts and report them, dont matter if your wrong thats no problem, think about this.... where would you go if dk got shut down ? ( if you have had a post removed pm one of the staff for an explanation, dont make a post about it we can explain better via pm and give us a little bit of time to find out please )

That clarifies matters. There has obviously been a personal slander later on in the thread that I missed.

Everything else that I saw (apart from the usual racist stuff) would easily be covered by the "fair comment" legal defense as they were genuine personal opinions and allowable on forums.

1) What if another webform has members saying that they are the besy website in the world, can DF have the pleasure of trampling on their forum owners roses?

2) Is there any forum members who can build DF a raised rose garden, to stop them getting trampleed?

3) Does any forum member know a way of stopping soliciters putting
a horses head in DF's bed?
