    ntsc to pal .tv .xbox360 .itp

    hello all !!!
    i think im gonna move from USA to Poland and i would like to take all my stuff with me but the thing is if its worth the trouble in USA we use ntsc and im Poland they use pal system i was wondering if my tv and my xbox360 ps3 hd home theater system will work down there should i take every thing i have here to PL or is it just a waste of money can any one help me out plz tv is pretty big and i would have to spend a lot of money to buy one over there.

    You will only have to check two things.

    1. Does your TV, etc support PAL?

    2. Will the same equipment operate on 220v mains?

    If the answer to either is 'no'. Then it won't be worth it, especially if the mains voltage is too high.

      power is not a problem u can get a converter from 220 to 110v

        But that doesnt alter the phase frequency.

        Changing from 110v @ 60 hz (US) to 110v @ 50 (Europe with a step down transformer) hz will have a nasty effect on circuit timing, especially important in TV's which use the phase to rescan an image.

        some can compensate for the 10hz shift, some cant. its a mixed bag.

            don't know, I've never actually looked. sounds expensive though, changing from AC to DC is fairly straightforward, a transformer and rectifier, changing from 60ac to 50ac sounds trickier, you could probably solid state it but at 220v that sounds less than straightforward...

            Couple the fact its a niche product and prices would be even higher
