            Good question Zaf!

We all know this, and other forums, are predominantly cable based so how will they cope? We've seen other forums remove their cable sections and still stay active so it can happen.

We'd just need to broaden our horizens.

Not sure if I would get Virgin or Sky, would need to have a look at the packages and prices. I don't really watch a lot of TV anyway, I'd stick with Virgin for the Broadband (currently pay for 20MB), don't think that can be beaten.

i love my dbox and i assume it will still give me fta,

the best thing about our little boxes is they do alot more than most people use them so i hope i would still be playing.

im sure you would see a drop in member partisapation but i would of thought
there is enough people who have been around a long time to be able to keep
              normal convo and topics going.

but i do belive this topic needs to be looked at carefully and the point your making does need to be taken on board by meny forums soon if they are wanting to continue to be around after switch off day.

you know that day my cousins boyfriends sisters cat is always telling us about.

Is there strong signs Virmin are switching to nag3? If so what are the chances of it being hacked ? must be pretty low as what is the point of switching?

Well I like to think we have a nice friendly community. Yes most people just come on here to get a bit of advice for their box.

To myself and others it has become so much more than a digital box forum. We have built up a nice friendly helpful community. I don't think that will change.. Well I hope not!! I like it here!!

well i switched to sky from april i think it was when cable went down. reason i switched was that it was just boring waiting for the new files and then just to ftp them over until the next time.

the fun in this is not watching tv its getting something you wouldnt normally get. and trying different setups ie image ect. but once everything is working fine for a long period it soon gets boring again.
currently sharing and just maintaining the server but other than that i change the image and load different plugins up to see how much better it is than sky or whoever.

dbox2 still alive and kicking but no fun there at all.

at least it would stop rip offs

if switch off ever comes then it will hurt those who are bribing and charging workingclass people for something that shouldd be free to all.

                              peace.
