    Moped Log Book Question

    Hey,

I bought a scooter about a year ago (Yamaha Cygnus-X 125). The guy I bought it from told me he'd send the log book to my home, so I took him on his word and bought the bike. The log book never arrived. I tortured him for months about it, and he kept giving me a story about the "girl in the office losing it" and he would get a new one and send it on. I never got it. So my question is:

If I phone the DVLA and explain the situation, can they issue me a log book? OR can the log book only be requested by the registered owner?

To viewers of the 'cheap dm800' thread - YES, i got my eye wiped again. :P

from another site... "you fill in a form with the chassis and engine codes and send it off to the DVLA. They then write to the registered owner (showing on there database) to confirm they have indeed sold the car. They allow 4 weeks for the registered owner to reply and if after this time they here nothing, then you should get the log book through"
thing is..why have you waited a ~~~~ing YEAR?
    Fave replies from various threads

1: What the fff is all that about??? All that crap below your reply I mean, get a life mate
2: no info on google abt the pace sv5 rang asda they have no idea what i was talking about,
3: Your total contribution to this forum, bordering on trolling, seems to have been a collection of snipes, one liners & asterisked expletives

Thanks, that's good news. Maybe i'll get this thing sold then.

As to why I waited, cause I'm lazy basically. I bought it with the intention of scooting to and from work, but then I kinda lost interest in the scooter and just used my car. I had heard before that I wasn't possible to get a log book if you're not the registered owner so I just never bothered trying or asking.

One year later I'm on DK asking

at least you have more posts than downloads!

Think you might have to plead dumb, your 'mate' owed you money and he stored bike at your place, never come back, you now want to use it, otherwise you might have problem with sorn and dvla

of the thanks button works great on here
