I think every Country should have a National day regardless. I'm 100% Scottish but it gives me a good feeling seeing others that are proud of their Country, even the English ;-) Just keep the Saint pish out of it.

St Patricks day winds me up something cronic.

I see englishmen with green hats on, getting pissed celebrating it.. WTF for??

I don't get pished and walk around with my star spangled banner on july 4th, Or celebrate evacuation day on april 14th for syria..

This country has no identity.. nobody knows what being english is about or what makes them english.. (not stating the obvious).

Anyway, its independence day Sierra Leone on wednesday, off to buy a flag

Isn't he the patron saint of several other countries as well? Maybe the English should get together with those other countries in celebrating it - maybe it may get more popular then?

I see there has been some more of 'Paddy's Day winding me up'.. Why?? There's no trouble, just people having a drink etc like they have for years and years. Unlike St G's day that until the last few years most English didn't even now when it was!

My own opinion for what it's worth.. One of, if not the most famous Englishman ever, was born on St G's day - tie it in with him or change it to his day??

It's a windup because an englishmen can celebrate something from another country yet cant be bothered to do their own.. country has no identity.. where the ~~~~ has it gone??
