Throwing yourself all over the floor to Norhtern Soul at Wigan Casino, St.Ives, Coalville and Cleethorpes to name a few, pep pills to keep you awake, patchwork trousers that you you to make by nicking everyones jeans in your area complimented with freshly stolen bowling shoes for dancing in....I remember it well...

Penny walkers, swizzels, arrow bars, Sherbert fountains, Spanish Gold, Bazooka Joes, Black Jacks, Mo jo's,Fizzy Lizzys , Mcgowans egg and milk toffee, Queen, Bay city Rollers, Slade, T rex, Sweet, Abba,Smokie, Alvin Stardust, Leo Sayer,The Who, i ~~~~in loved those days

      THE TRUTH
      The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.

i was born in 66 so i grew up in and loved the 70's.

        i didn't enjoy having to wear hand-me-downs though !!

        does anyone remember 'waisters' ?

i think mine were bright blue and had several rows of buttons in the waistband.

I take it that you got rolled in the wet mattress down the old pig shop GMB, so you didn't bruise when they gave you a good kicking....

I also remember the 70s well, I remember my first pair of monkey boots, lumberjack coats, collecting bonfire wood in a bogey we made ourselves with old pram wheels and a plank of wood, getting time off school because of strikes, and packs of 5 cigarettes (cost 14p), and you could have hours of fun in phone boxes annoying the operator.

I changed the gearbox on my dad's Ford Cortina in the 70's. Took a few hours, but was relatively easy. Changed a few master cylinders on it too and adjusted the clutch and rear brakes. Cars were easy to work on in the 70's. almost everything could be changed/worked on.
Modern cars however are completely different beasts, designed for garage technicians to work on.
