I got burned to bits playing with my fire engine in the back garden in the 76 heatwave, got sunstroke and needed medical attention.

We had a swing, my sisters friend went over the top on it.

My mam and dad were out, so we sneaked friends around, they turned off all the lights and played a dracular audio cassette, I was terrified and had nightmares for months.

I got my fingers squashed in the mangle.

My dad left his razor out, so I thought I would copy what he does, my mam had to get extra towels from the neighbours to stop the bleeding.

    Aye, happy days

Modern cars however are completely different beasts, designed for garage technicians to work on.

Lol,I can remember standing inside the engine bay of my Spitfire when I was tinkering.

      Try that nowadays!
He who laughs last probably didn't get the joke.

That Summer of 76 seemed to last forever, might be the senility kicking in but i don't remember a Summer as good as that one since. Remember the save water/bath with a friend campaign. They even had stickers for it.
Me and my friends didn't get a chance to be bullied, get battered and no matter the size of the batterer, told to get out and dont come back in till you'd beaten him or else. Changed days, do that now and you'd have the police and social workers at the door.
First drink at the school disco with everyone stealing a bottle from home and making mixed punch . How ill were we in the morning. And not a ~~~~ing yankee style prom dress in sight. High waisters, brogues with segs, tanktops (I had a bright yellow one gads) definitely the decade that fashion forgot. And I finished the second half of the decade as a punk, ~~~~in great days

              does anyone remember 'waisters' ?

i think mine were bright blue and had several rows of buttons in the waistband.
Oxford Bags we called em, or Birmingham bags, slightly different, with two big side pockets on, mine were 3 button ones, but I was envious of my mates 4 button waist one.

I remember we were doing rugby at PE in school and we couldn't use the football pitch as it was being worked on, so the teacher got us to play on the red ash park!

Christ that was painful, especially as it was mid November.

                  Loved the 70's

I remember when the Rolling Stones release the song "Miss You" and being pissed off that they went disco. Come on who here went to the movies to see Saturday Night Fever and thought about killing the Bee Gees after it was over. Thank god for Black Sabbath and the Sex Pistols.

And yes I do remember Flemming?s jeans on county road. I think it was some where else before that.

Seriously though 70s was the greatest decade ever. Loved every bit of it.

Some great memories from the 70's..My first proper kiss with Christine Wilcox round the back of a garage, i remember our teeth clattering together in a most unromantic way. .
I remember watchin wide eyed as Evel Knievel jumped buses and then the next day me and my mates (who are now my brother in laws) making their sister (whos now my wife) lay on the road while we jumped over her on our bikes.

She still reminds me of it to this day...
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I do not know the answer.
