When does Summer start?

Summer started and finished in April this year, last year it was May next year probably March

i believe summer to start on 1st may and last for may, june and july. then august, september and october are autumn, november, december and january are winter, and february, march and april are spring. that's what i was taught in school anyway.

there appear to be differing opinions on this?

in primary school we got july and august off and in secondary school, june july and august off. so called summer holidays yes, but incorporated an autumn month. actually the weather always seemed to be nicer in september and october after we went back to school

i was always taught dec-jan-feb winter mar, apr, may, spring. june july aug, summer sep oct nov autumn.
plus on cbeebies its may and theyre stil doing the spring song and i think they know what theyre on about eva

Summer was indeed earlier in April, we skipped straight into Autumn through May & I'm expecting Snow during June & possibly July. With luck we'll miss spring & hit summer again in September.

i remember that in 1975 although I also remember 1976 - very good year for those who don't need the rain I also recall sometime in the early 1980's when it hailed in May - I was out on my motorbike at the time - wasn't fun at all
