    Tenerife Tobbaco

    Got a Mate going to tenerife soon where's the best place to buy tobbaco, Duty free?? small tobacco shops or supermarkets??

    How much can he expect to pay per pack of 10 pouches of 50grams for Drum original or amber leaf??

      duty free or tobbaco shops
      the stuff in the stalls is fake
      bought it a couple of years ago
      for the uncles etc dont smoke myself but they said it was crap

          Local shops came back 6 weeks ago brought duty free on way into tenerife nearly ?15 a sleave dearer than in tenerife (embassy no1's)

              If you are a smoker then buy one pouch and test it out, failing that most things sold in Tenerife are a little suspect as they grow their own tabacco out there, and if their is a problem you are not likely to take it back, the general rule of thumb, which applies to most "suspect" places like Tenerife, Egypt, Bulgaria Turkey, is if it is cheap its fake, unsmokable and it's only destined for the bin. I would be tempted to chat to some ex-pats (plenty out there) or use the more quality tabacconist or duty free. But word of caution Tenerife being duty free and non-EU is a hot spot for customs officers and people returning from these non-EU countries are more liable to be searched or bags x-rayed...chuck

                  where in tenerife are they going?

                  in las americas there are several shops called "spanish style" they are the cheapest i have found.

                  las americas is a big place so if thats where they are going pm me and i can give directions.

                  ps i have just got 10 x 50g of golden virginia in palma nova and it was 67.50 euros. tenerife will be cheaper. they did have cheaper spanish makes of tobacco on sale as well.

                      It is getting harder to get the real stuff and if you can it has shot up. Tenerife used to be easy as much as you could carry ..and friends would call.

                              A good offer Lainie. I don't smoke anymore but used to bring some back for "friends". I used to get mine in Las Galletas.
