    Burtons Fish & Chips

You remember them? Nice eh? mmmmmm

I recently emailed the company to enquire whether they still make them and, if so, where might I acquire some.

The result was not good news.
Here is my email and the reply.

    Oi!

I don't mean to be rude but do you lot make them Fish 'n' Chips snack things anymore?

I haven't seen them for donkey's years and let me tell you this... they are in high demand, my friends. High demand indeed.

    Sincerely yours,

    Fish 'n' Chips lover

Thank you for your email regarding Burton's Fish n Chips.

These snacks were discontinued several years ago when Burton's Foods made the decision to move away from the production of mainstream savoury snacks due to the highly competitive nature of this market.

Burton's have no plans for the re-introduction of these savoury products; focus is now on sweet biscuit production.

Thank you once again for taking the time and trouble to contact us.

    Kind regards

On the subject of REAL fish and chips-yesterday was national/worldwide fish and chip day with all the Italian chip shops offering fish and chips at half price.
I really enjoyed the fresh cod and I smothered the chips in vinegar. I'm even drooling as I type this.
Oh wait, maybe the drooling comes with age.
