    slingbox

Just wondering if anybody here has had any usage of these slingboxes, i am thinking of buying one but have my concerns about it handling the slow down/capping speeds on virgin network at peak times

Ive got one but only had it a short time, when it starts up it seems that the video is running slower than normal tv (I had my laptop in the garden in the summer with the music channels on) then as it buffers up it slowly speed up to normal (the video and audio still sound exactly the same at first just the beat slowed down) it wasnt taking much bandwidth up at all, im on 20mb Virgin connection and when i tested it from work it did exactly the same for about 2 hours till some idiot went through the fibre at work (I work for the NHS so we have a good 100mb+ connection even when its not working too well!!) But i heard these can be used on a Virgin 2mb connection with no problems cos the slingbox compresses to compensate!

All in all after my babble i recommend one, my aunt and uncle are moving to Barbados and are gonna get one in my cousins house so they can watch tv over there!
