What are your thoughts on cannabis?

When I was younger I smoked cannabis on a daily basis as I got older settled down and had kids, my use declined and declined untill about 5 years ago I had my last smoke. Well today I was at my mothers house when I saw one of her neighbous who has m.s, walking unaided. This was quite a shock as over the 10 - 12 years of my mom being her neighbour I have seen her health decline untill she was wheelchair bound. When I spoke to my mom about this she told me its because she has started using cannabis. Just wondering what are your views and why the government dont use it as a medicine for those who need it?

I know a few ms sufferers who use cannabis and they swear by it
Goverment wont go down that route as big pharma have plenty of pharma drugs that the goverment/nhs purchase at inflated sums and make the pharma companys plenty of dollar
Its money they want in the long run

watched a Canadian documentary on using cannabis oil for lots of health benefits
        some extraordinary claims
but these guys weren't smoking it they took it orally
seemed to have documented results too
but the drugs company's screwed em shame its alleged benefits aren't researched
" run from the cure " was documentary with Rick Simpson
the guy was persecuted ..all in all bit of a shame really if researched instead of hunted and hounded
maybe the result could be clarified either way ?

i had a bad experience with it when i was younger, turned me into a paranoid wreck.

i used to think people where following me around when i was stoned,
remember walking home one night after a particularly heavy session and i was convinced i could here footsteps behind me and could here sort of whispering,
everytime i turrned round there was no one there....

          never again, ~~~~ that........

The Government licences the Pharmaceutical companies already to research the uses of Cannabis. They are fully aware of the benefits of it are currently trying to seperate the positives from the negatives. Like all medicines you will always get someone who has a negative reaction and due to this they currently will not get a licence to sell the new medicines.

There's no doubt Cannabis can help some individuals but like most things in life the press highlight one point and make it the truth. You can bet 1000s try it with no reactions but they will pick one individual that had a good or bad reaction and make it the norm.

Its a shame it just seems to be the bad reactions that get the press. Hopefuly one day the people who need it will be able to us it without the fear of prosecution.

It is researched but not in its pure form
When i get a minut i will copy and paste an e mail i received from the uks leading professor on medicinal marijuana
This was sent last year when we inquired why these cannabis drugs were not available for my mate who sadly passed away last year from cancer

                        my thoughts are simple

                        EVERY drug should be LEGAL

its not as if you cant get the ~~~~ers anyway

plain and simple it would make the country revenue free up loads of police and it would stop making drug dealers rich men

if it was sold in chemists you would be guaranted good 5hit too not rat poison and whatever

it wouldnt create more drug users because it is all readily available anyway anyone who wants drugs can buy them easily

so lets stop the war on dealers and criminal gangs and just move the trade away to legal companies and tax revenues
