    Put vlc file onto dvd

Hi all, i've got a dvd player that plays divx, so how do i put say divx or xvid files onto a blank dvd to play on my recorder. After downloading they go to vlc and i thought i could just drag and drop them to save converting and also get a few films on one disk. Any help would be very welcome thanks Donka.

Use another burning software. Ashampoo 10 is great.

Create data dvd and add the files that way. Divx avi etc all will work on an up to date divx player.

i was under the impression no conversion required as you have a div x dvd player.

If it were me, id just download a simple burner, perhaps nero etc,or as detailed, then make my discs.

Due to your dvd player being divx compatible, their is no need to convert anything.

Just load some burning software onto pc, then make your disks, and they should work in your dvd player.

Hope that helps, and good luck.

Does the DVD player also have a USB port?

If it does you could drag & drop the films onto a flash drive & just plug that into the player.

Other the that you just need to follow the previous suggestions. Pick which DVD burning program you want to use, create a data DVD & just drag & drop the films into the relevant area in the program & burn the disks.

You select 'Data' as this doesn't convert any of the files.

e.g. if you select data, drag & drop MP3 files over & burn them. They will show on the disk as MP3's.
If you selected 'audio' before dragging & dropping the MP3 files, the program would convert them to .wav format so they will play in a cd player.
