Who sent me a PM about my dog?

As some of you will know, I took in 2 dogs to stop them being dumped outside a rescue centre.

one of our good members sent me a PM after I had managed to rehome the troublesome pooch of the pair, with a possible offer of a home at their son's home. Like the idiot I am I've deleted the PM.

If that member would like to contact me again as things are not running smoothly between my original dog, Harley, & Sadie the remaining staffy.

    Thanks
    Canker

I cannot tell a lie, it was me.

Unfortunately my son has registered with a stuffy rescue charity, paid his ?100 and is awaiting delivery/collection of a 6 month old pup.
I get my dogs from here and a few of my friends followed suite. You usually get dogs in the 2-5 year range, but all have been top quality animals.

So it looks like we won't be able to take your dog. Sorry bud.

    Mick.

It's so annoying. If she hadn't came into season as soon as I got her this problem wouldn't exist.

Harley was so soft with her she could take chews out of his mouth without even a side wards glance.
Now she's out of season he's laying down the law...but she's not backing down as much as she should. Most of the problems revolve around rawhide chews, human food & myself. It's getting better, but it's still hard work.

They've never gone at it so bad that one has been yelping, but it really doesn't look good. Most of the time it's more playful. The worrying part is when she challenges him & his back comes up... Normally that's when he's going to attack a male dog, with malicious intent.

It is getting better, but I'm still looking for a good home for her. She's such a nice dog, great with kids & very loving... just a bitch with Harley

Afternoon bud. Following a chat with our Matthew he has decided to stick with the staffy rescue. Reasons being distance, she's a little destructive, and the point that his 'donation' is non refundable.
Hope all plans out for you ok there dude.

          Mick.

Thanks for asking Mick. Amazingly, over the last couple of days she has got a lot better... Even to the point that I may just keep her.
Harley is still laying down the law, but she's backing away from him now. There have been no more problems over human food & I'm now working on calming down Harleys possessive nature over myself.

But I am still keeping them separated during the day when I'm out.

She is now taking advice from him. Yesterday, being so hot, they were given ice cubes to help cool them down. Sadie just crunched through them where Harley licks & sucks them. After 3 ice cubes she watched him & then started sucking & crunching them... There's hope for her yet.

just shows how hormonal changes in the bitch caue all sorts of problems
they should be stable till next time
and remember that hormones and pheromones have big effects on dogs
even if you get hers spayed she will occasionally still have times when hormonal stuff goes on between the dogs but its far less of effect
dogs work stuff out better than humans as they are far less independent the really are better in a pack
these dogs will be fine together they bond not like humans and will both find the pecking order
i can assure you that even if thee is a spat they will be fine after a few days let them find this out themselves
far easier letting millennia of natural evolution work it out than intervene
honestly they will settle just be the alpha male and they will follow
Today is the Tomorrow you worried about yesterday ......Was it worth it ?

The bitch has decided that the bed needs a special rinse only she can provide. Three times this week.

I know it's all linked to dominance, but it's gonna get her put into the cage if it doesn't stop. Now having to keep the bedroom door closed so she can't do it again, but this is really winding Harley up as that's where he goes to relax.

                Think I'm a little stressed.
