Help finding out the missing breed in my dog

I've been mulling over what the missing breed of dog is in my little nightmare.

What I do know, he's half staff, half lurcher. So a quarter greyhound & a quarter something else.

Part of my interest in this is due to his eyes. I've never seen this type of eye in a dog before.
My previous dog's, as well as every dog I've looked at since taking an interest, have pretty much the same eyes as humans... Pupil & all colouring up front just under the surface.
Harley's eyes (pupil, etc) are set back about a third into the eye with what can only be described as a clear lens in front... Kind of like when someone wears contact lenses. (No he doesn't wear contacts)

Having problems finding pics to demonstrate them. But if someone could shed some light on the subject I'd be interested

i think eyes aren't related to breed.. i think they are just individual..

what age is he, could he possibly have cataracts?

He will be 4 in sept/oct. No chance of cataracts, my collie cross suffered with them towards her later days. His eyes are clear with no misting. It's the depth from surface to the actual pupil & iris that get's me.

You can only see it when looking from the side. I'll try to get a pic of one, but he's a sod when you point a camera at him.

Ops, I've looked at the pics & there are a couple that might have something similar...just can't tell from the front.

i really dont think its important what the missing breed is.. a dogs a dog..
be they mangy mongrels, or pedigrees with championship winning bloodlines, after having both, they all love you just the same.
doubt even the best dog expert in the world could tell you..

If he's half Staff and Half Lurcher that makes him full dog by my basic Algebra.

think if the lurcher has been a collie cross the eye colour could come from there
some collies have one blue eye and one brown or both blue ect


and yes breed characteristics for dogs like dogue de bordeaux ' and weimaraner and some Labradors have eye pigmentation to match the coat

and breed standard dictates this too

also a lurcher by definition is not a pure breed but a concoction of a sight hound with another breed to give other traits such as "collie/greyhound" speed and intelligence was the desired out come

so your dog is actually a cross 3/4 mix of collie staffie and some type of running dog

strangest cross i have ever seen was saluki cross afghan hound

strange determined and aggressive dog
but funny as ~~~~ looking

but as said a stable dog is a loving dog good owners make stable dogs

I've got a long nosed, scalley backed, long tailed terrier. Of course most people just call it a crocodile.
