    eBay con starts again

I haven't sold a thing on eBay since they raised the selling fee to 10% of the final selling price on auctions.

Today I got an email from eBay stating the selling fee for "Buy it now" listings is to go up to 10% of the final selling fee from 21 Jul... Wtf

Why use eBay when they are gonna pocket a tenner if you sell something for ?100.. and also get shafted by Paypal for recieving money...

    Pure rage !!

They provide a comprehensive auction service. They expect to be paid for it.

It's not compulsory. If you don't like it, don't use it.
He who laughs last probably didn't get the joke.

I agree ,its hardly a con when you know the fees and rules prior to listing anything ,theres no hidden fees, simple answer is if not happy then dont use .

it is getting a bit expensive but to be fair you have to pay to put add's in papers and stuff whether it sells or doesnt sell

on ebay you can start your auction at 99p for ~~~~ all if im selling thats where i go

if you dont want to pay fee's on goods sold use EBID they charge you a rate starts at ?1.99 for a week to be a seller and you dont pay any final value fee

so in general too buyers can get better deals because sellers can charge a little cheaper too because they dont pay ebay

sounds good doesnt it in principal yes but you just do not get anywhere near the same amount of traffic as ebay and your items are harder to sell

so if you want more traffic promote it like me

EBID EBID EBID ra ra ra

disclaimer i do not work for ebid and are not part of their CEO's i am just a man in a council house

The thing is with ebay, that you can sell anything, I have sold thing's which I would normally bin or give away, recently I sold some old wheels and tyre's for ?68.50 which I would have to pay to get rid of normally, so it's the old saying "something is better than ~~~~ all.".......

yeah and now the inland revenue is going to start checking up on the tax details of their power sellers, so ebay might be losing a few customers very soon.

I tried to sell a van seat on ebay and I put pickup only an arsehole from workington 371 miles away won then demanded that I posted it to him when I said it is pick up only he said he wanted it posted then when I would not he gave me negative feedback and ebay charged me for selling it basteds, so I wll wait for him to sell something which is cheap I will buy it and just negative feedback him

If you was to sell something in an auction house, they would charge you somewhere around 20% + VAT, ,
I only notice the selling fees when I sell something ?100+,
there no different than most businesses, start with low prices, then when they've got a strong customer base, start putting prices up

the real rip off merchants are the Gas and Electric suppliers.

Its not so much a rip off but a piss take, just think they have Ebay in a lot of countries in the world, so you have to pay a listing fee then a selling fee and as you said a paypal fee, its them just being greedy ~~~~ers and wanting more and more and more money, If they earned just a quid for every item listed on every ebay site in the world im sure that would be enough for them, add up this lot:

eBay - Men's Clothing, Inside the Home, Women's Clothing items on eBay.com

and see whats listed on just .com is that not enough for the greedy greddy ~~~~~ers
