This is scientific bollocks (they call it theory), but not scientific FACT.

And here is where the saying 'nothing is impossible' comes into being.

Anyone with any sort of open mind, can realize that at some stage in time, there was no universe, there must have been a time when there was absolute nothing, because if you have only one atom in existence, then it has come from somewhere. Also, if you have any sort of energy, it has come from somewhere.

This is what scientisist cannot explain.
How do you make even one atom ?, and even with that atom, it has laws of physics that define its property, and what defines those laws of physics ?
If you have a universe that has nothing, how do you 'make' an atom of an element from absolutely nothing ?
and that atome may have an electron / proton, its own laws of physics and an energy value if converted from matter to energy.

But we see a universe with not just 1 atom, but untold trillions made from 'NOTHING'

Bottom line: If you have an atom, what was it made from ?

      Capacitors??

I read the thread and didn't see capacitors mentioned. If I missed the discussion I apologize. They are the only thing I can think of that hold an electrical charge without a chemical process. If there is a scale with enough accuracy to measure the same capacitor charged and discharged that might answer the original question.

        Thought

If you take a flat lead acid battery and weigh it then stick balloons over the breathers and charge it then it will certainly weigh less when charged.

Doesn't the flow of electricity produce a slight heat difference in the wire?

Hotter things have a larger mass than colder things, (only slightly but it is different).

So does that mean that the electricity has mass or that the force due to electricity has mass.

You are assuming that everyone believes tat the universe started from nothing. I don't. There's a 'big bang' theory, but to my understanding there was something there...maybe a colossal black hole that imploded just before it exploded...throwing all the compressed matter away from the center point.

Back in my educational days it was scientific fact that you cannot create something from nothing. Just as you cannot destroy something, only change it from one state to another...usually with the loss of heat energy in the process.

It's the same reason why no mechanical or electrical device can be 100% efficient. At some point in every attempt energy is lost through heat or sound energy, this lost energy has been taken away from the total output.

e.g. 1:4 gear ratio - for every single turn of the input drive the output drive turns 4 times.
But gears make sound & heat, so although it is more efficient it still isn't 100% efficient as a 1:4 ratio drive.

From the burning of coal to heat water to produce steam to turn the generators that produce the electricity that powers the light....... the standard light bulb is only 5% efficient.
95% of the power from the burning of coal is lost in the process.

But, I fear we are moving away from the original question that is... Does electricity have weight?

Anyone who say's 'Nothing is impossible' has obviously never tried to slam a revolving door.

That's cos turning it on allowed the sound to escape from the speaker.
He who laughs last probably didn't get the joke.

but wouldnt the added weight of the little people inside counter-act the weight of the sound escaping?

new question. what about hard drives?
does a half full HDD weigh more than a formatted, clean HDD?

i hardly think so. the little people are always inside the radio/telly whether its switched on or off.
or perhaps you are of the belief that the people are transported there by some manner of localised wormhole.
if so then you seriously need your head looking at

of course they are transported there when you turn on the tv/radio, they must be, as when i listen to for instance terry wogan in the house, then i go out to the car, he is transported from house radio to car radio.
this is ~~~~ing nursery level physics you fool.. every coont knows this

or, there are millions of terry wogans. one sat in every radio. this may seem like a very maverick theory to you but i think it's a bit more plausible if you think about it

Yes, that fits in rather neatly with Parallel Universe Theory.
