just had a call on the house phone and the man was saying your computer is running slow please do this and upgrade to this i was like stfu lool. any other had one of these phone call lately??

Funny that my mrs mate came round last week almost in tears thinking she has been scammed and let some guy check her pc and all her bank details.
The company are called Ammyy and have a habit of telling you your pc has lots of viruses and then charges you to clean them up.
Ive read lots of bad posts about this scam.

Got the same phone call about 3 weeks ago, virus on my pc- he'll help me get rid of them. Should have played the ~~~~er for a while but I asked him for his phone number and he hung up straight away.!!
I'll bet they catch alot of unsuspecting folk though!!

My wife had this a few weeks back.
Luckly, she knows a fair bit about computers, so was able to play them a bit.
She asked them which OS they thought she was running and they said Win XP Pro. She actually runs Linux.
So they were told to *beep* off
