Wiring a TV aerial from scratch.

I bought a cheap external tv aerial from eBay.

It arrived. I assembled it but there is nowhere to plug in the coax, so I'm assuming this is a pro-installers kit which expects the installer to wire the coax directly to the metal.

So....I've opened the aerial and it has two internal plates. I'm guessing that I now need to split my coax and connect the inner copper core to one of the plates and the outer copper sheath gets connected to the other plate. Is it as simple as that?

Yep theres 2 terminals on the aerial , split the coax and bare a bit of wiring back , join the centre wire to one terminals , twist the hairy part of the wiring and connect it to the other terminal . Good viewing

you wanna twist/cut/strip the coax till it looks a bit like this.....

Important to make sure none of the strands from the 'hairy' part are near/touching the centre part, then screw down to terminals.. the outer 'hairy' part should always be ground/earth.
