If you worried about screen burn on a plasma, a mate who works in an electrical repair shop gave me this tip.... If you leave the screen on the snow (no signal setting on analogue) for about 10-15 minutes, it removes any ghosts you might see!

panny vieras always come highly recomended.-me ive got a song lcd 32inch when i bought it power consumption and weight were my main concerns.

I have a Panny G20 42" Plasma and i have no issue with screen burn , as mentionded it has burn protection built in.
Black is black and picture quality is bang on.

LCD is catching up, but i have yet to see an LCD with a picture to match A G20 Panny.

As for the worry about glass screens, mine has a toughned glass screen that withstand a fair old knock before it breaks,

Put it this way it would take a bit more than a flying wii controller.

As for refections, the screen comes with an anti glare coating.
My TV is in a south facing sunny front room and i can assure you its less of an issue on the Plasma than my old Panny CRT.

As for backwards compatability (old Scart connectivity), my panny still has them.

If you want the best Plasma on the market, then do your homework and read owner reveiws, what HIFI etc and make your own mind up.

All i will say is i made the best choice for my earned money with a cracking picture that everyone who comes round coments on how clear, sharp and spot on the colours are.

With 600htz , there are no motion blur issues either.

Go on buy a Panny, you know it makes sense

A friend has a 52" 3D LED that has replaced his 42" Plasma

The Plasma tv has really nasty image burn from the xbox, but the new tv is by far the best I've seen for image quality.

I'm holding off until OLED screens break the 42" barrier at a price that won't cost the same as a small flat.

when i bought my pioneer 50" kuro plasma it nearly killed me lifting it up on stand it was that heavy,there is so much circuitry inside it takes about 4-5 secs to change station ,oh and there was no sound from tv when bought,
speaker bar is extra

got a 42" lg plasma & a samsung lcd of comparable size. the plasma is a lot smoother with fast moving images such as the footy.

I'd go for a plasma. I had a toshiba 42" LCD with my ex wife crap contrast, my dad has a 46" samsung led very colourful picture but very very poor on fast moving things as it ghosts, even on a soap if someone moves their hand fast, if u like sport it has to be a plasma

Ive also got a 50 inch panny plasma the difference between that and my old lcd samsung is unreal plasma every time

best buy is a OLED display TV as offers a high contrast, High luminance and best black color. Mine LG 7200 TFT is not so visible in daylight.
