    Paypal problems

Anyone help, i sold a fridge about 2-3 weeks ago on ebay. Buyer paid straight away using paypal then contacted me by phone and ebay to arrange collection. After a couple of weeks paypal said the buyer hadn't authorised the payment and could i give more info about the transaction. After telling them about the arrangements made through ebay and text they then emailed me to say Because you did not meet the eligibility requirements for the PayPal Seller
Protection Policy the money has been reversed and i'm now in debt to the amount (?120.00) on my account. Can't get hold of paypal until t'moz and buyer hasn't replied yet. I think it's something to do with having the item collected rather than posting with proof, any help.

I had the cash in paypal account and it was transfered into my bank. But now the payment has been reversed my paypal account is in debit to the sum of the sale price ?120.00. I don't know if they can get it out of my bank or will wait until i recieve more payment for goods sold or payment for thing bought then take it back.

No feedback left can ebay take it from my account. I was going to buy a tool through paypal but they might just keep the money they say i owe before any other deals can be done, thanks.

So Paypal allow a payment to be made with a stolen card and you suffer. How does that work. You've been robbed by Paypal not the scumbag that collected the fridge

What exactly do you have to do to 'meet the eligibility requirements for the PayPal Seller
              Protection Policy'

Gotta love paypal the way they help out con artists is admirable

Cancel your direct debit with them and when the letters demanding payment get sent return to sender with a big ~~~~ YOU wrote on the letter.

Hi Donka do not waste any more time???.

Complaint your matter, to Financial Ombudsman Service as soon as possible.

Paypal have withdrawn your money from your account without your permission.

Item was picked from your house seen in working order other wise the buyer would not have picked it up.

Report the matter to the police that you sold the item on ebay and paypal have withdrawn the money from my account.

I would imagine Paypal have every right to take money from the users account. Sadly if the OP has no proof that the goods were actually collected Paypal now find themselves in a position where a payment has been made without authorisation and no proof that any goods were sold.

The bit I don't understand is how Paypal cannot make a proper decision on whether a payment made is bona fide prior to putting the funds into an account. My argument would be that by putting the funds into the OP's account he took that as being a bone fide. Surely Paypal need to ensure that reversal of such a payment goes to resolution (sadly the first question would be - proof of collection etc)

In this sort of cash on collection situation you need to get a signed receipt from the buyer as proof that the item has changed hands.

Paypal have not taken money from my account as such, they have put me in negative balance to the amount on my paypal account. Meaning if i try to buy or sell using paypal they will take their's before i start to get mine. luckily i emptied my paypal into my bank. The said they pass it to a collecting agency if i don't pay. So the person who's card was used in the fraud losses nowt, the bank lose nowt paypal want to lose nowt and soft lad here losses the fridge i sold and ?120. I wouldn't mind i only sold it for my brother he's had the money off me so he's lost nowt. P.S He did offer to try and get me half, who needs enemies when you've got brothers.
