Wanna Nice Watch?

This watch is made in Japan which is quite rare in today's world. It is a proper watch movement automatic and highly regarded. Orient are not Rolex, Omega etc, but they are a tidy Japanese company. The weight of this watch shows it's class. It accurate to within 4 - 6 secs a day ( it ain't no chronometer)

It's about ?130 but truly worth every penny. There is a similar priced Seiko that is 100m not 200m depth. This one has solid bracelet and screw down winder.

I can't get my head around battery watches. For the ?130 you get a proper movement.

Have a look at this watch. It gives you an insight in to the work involved in making a watch that has a second hand that obviously moves once a second and a window that contains the year on 3 separate dials. The furtherest right hand one moves once a year, the next one along moves once every 10 years, yet incredibly the left hand one moves once a century.

Or to put it another way

for each movement of the century slide, the escape wheel has completed about 6.3 billion rotations and the balance has completed approximately 94.5 billion half-swings.


The watch takes into consideration Feb, 30 and 31 day months. It makes provisions for leap years too.

Not a battery in sight.



However cost over ?45,000

Some of those Fossil watches looked good. But I wouldn't spend that much on a watch.

I had a limited edition watch from Japan, self winding kinetic thing. Worked fine, except it could gain of lose 5 mins per day depending on how active or lazy I was.

I now have another china special. Weide dual time analogue & LED display. I'm shocked at what this has survived so far, I'm not very forgiving when it comes to watches. I now have a second one as a back up, yes I like it that much. It's also a hell of a lot cheaper.

I had a decent watch once. was a casio. cost less than 10 quid. it was amazing. it told me the time and had a light. i got it from argos. its gone now but my phone tells me the time so there

I too have one of the peanut watches. Only when I got mine it was referred to as the Virus watch. It's a copy of an expensive watch, guess the name changed due to copyright.

It's great for ~~~~ing with peoples minds. Drove my friends insane trying to work it out.
