although i have a phd in stupidity i would just like to say a great big thank you for all those people who helped me revive my dead 500c - its very much appreciated. The problem was sooooo simple the 9 pin plug needed wiggling so my next adventure is to remove the old image on the box and put the new 2.0 on it - so any help on removing the old one would again be appreciated - thanks in advance guys - dave

The best way (in my opinion) is to do it from a Telnet session, have a look in the stickies mate, KAOS has provided an excellent tutorial tellng you how to flash and erase using Telnet.
