Any Gas boiler fitters or Hygene guru's ??

I am trying to find out what the tempreature should be set at on the main digital display on my gas combi boiler that does my central heating raidiators and also my hot water (the boiler turns on and heats the water up as and when You turn the hot water tap on).

The hot water was set at 60c but its scalding hot and you cant even hold your hand under the water, I have turned the tempreature down to 57c on it to see how that goes, but it will take a day or two to test it obviously and see how it goes.

I know that if you turn the flow of water from the tap up higher then the water should be at its coolest and turn the flow down it will get warmer/hotter, but I have the water turned up full blast at the tap and its still scalding hot, so its gotta be set too hot, yes/no ??

Hope someone in the know can help out, thanks.

    p.s
please remember, its not a hot water Imerssion tank, its a combi boiler that heats the water if and when needed.

you have a couple of options turn it down more until you are happy everybody is different what is scalding to one maybe ok for the next person

or use more cold water if you have mixer taps or if washing or bathing just fill up with less hot water then add more cold

if it was set for 60 try 50 as 3 degrees wont make much difference tbh

60? will take the skin off man as you have probably found out. Can't remember the exact temperature on an auto control worcester bosch but it is around the 47? mark and even then the kids might find it a bit hot, but remember a combi boiler is just a big electric shower so when you mix the hot with the cold on mixer tap add a lot more cold than you think as it reduces the pressure on the hot making it hotter, hope this helps and you should notice the change instantly as the boiler heats the water as you need it so it won't take time to settle

Turned the temp down another few degrees as its still getting very very warm, so I guess I have to just keep taking it a few degrees at a time eh...

most combi boilers have a fixed temp thermister the knob you turn is more for the central heating side some boilers may have two thermostat knobs ,when it gets too hot the gas pressure should be checked if possible not new condensing boilers you have to take a gas rate, the thermister may be out of range and need changed ,or the heat exchanger may have a restriction and the heat does not get away quick enough that would have to be changed if thats the problem. what make of boiler is it gas council number if possiblewhich will start 47 xxx xx and if you live in the south east lime scale is a big problem that causes problems in the heat exchanger

the thermister was replaced the other day when a service was done, and therfore I think thats why the settings all went back to the default settings, there is a digital control panel on the main combi boiler that you can set the tempreature of the radiotors and the hot water and also a seperate wall thermostat too for the radiators, its not the first time ive had this problem, just trying to figure out the best and safest tempreature for the hot water, thats all.

If its a gas combi boiler is there any risk of legionairres disease or is that only if you had a water tank ??? because if thats the case I could adjust the temp of the water about 10 degrees lower no problem ???

the gas valve should adjust the gas rate of the boiler to the burner ie the gas at the burner modulates depending what the temp of the water as determined by the thermistor if its not doing that then the water would get to hot.it does not say anything in the instruction book that you have to do anything after you fit a thermister

Hi mate I'm up here too.
I get the same problem, it's only during the summer, you get a big temp difference in the water coming into your house.
My boiler copes fine in the winter but during the summer I have to turn the temp setting for the hot water right back.
I have mine set around 50c, 2 kids in the house, 55c can scold.
As long as your above 45 there should be no chance of legionella.
