Is there anyway to speed up Utorrent ?

Sorry if this is in the wrong place.

But is there anyway to speed up Utorrent?

On my speed test i have a DL of 12327 kbps and UL of 629 kbps

but my torrents seem to be going so slowly!

    currently - seeds 15(493) peers 21(1350) D/L 22.5 U/L 45.0 ish

I have had some very quick ones in the past, with DL of 300-400

But it just seems like died all of a sudden.

port forwarding is all ok, so not sure what it could be.

any idea's on what to do?

    cheers

It comes with the territory mate.

Private trackers typically max out your broadband but public ones can be flakey.

Investigate Newsgroups if you want to constantly max out your internet speed.

i would have to agree newsgroups with ssl to keep urself safe.

Loads of sites out there, yes many might be us payment.

Here another :: Xennews :: free 2 day trial, prices very cheap and in euro, tried and tested and speeds maxs my 20mb and never had any issues with item not found

If you dont download a lot of stuff its best to pay by download,
ie Astranews do a block of 120GB for $25 (about ?17)

But that it nothing else to pay untill you use up your 120GB

Thats what iv done already, but with no success!
(please forgive me if you think i only ask, and never do any research beforehand)

All thats seemed to happened is my graph/chart at the bottom constantly gives a download level of 10000 kB/s readout, but its actually only a mere 38 - 40 kB/s

Any more help for a fellow, midlander ! (lich)

              cheers

what torrent ratios are you downloading? how many seeders to leechers?
                how fast is your connection?
                are you sharing yourself?

Well, after changing all the setting again, iv lost most of the seeds! for some reason???

                    Currently it reads...

                    12(285) seeds
                    85(1635) peers
                    down speed 60.3
                    up speed 77.1

My connection speed on a test showed it at 11744 kB/s down speed and 622 kB/s upload speed.

You might want to throttle your upload speed mate.

Every packet of data you receive has to be confirmed as recieved and then a request sent for the next packet, if your upload is too high then these request packets get delayed and your download speed suffers as your peers do not have any requests for the next packet.

Play around with your upload speed, 77KB/s is far too high.

iv had a little play around now, still downloading very slow though,

                        Currently...
                        seeds 3(283) peers 11(1734) DL 45.5 UL 24.9

anyone got any idea's what i can change to improve this ?
