If this is partly due to pain, what sort of mattress do you use?

I have problems sleeping through the night. The first 3-4 hours are great, then I'm waking up every hour or so. I'm always ~~~~ed.

Now I'm waiting on a delivery of a new mattress. 10" overall depth including about 4-5cm of memory foam. This was suggested by a few people. Since my current mattress has more stains than a 90year old in a private run nursing home, I thought I'd give it a go.

I'll check back in a few days once I've had the chance to try it out.

I also occasionally use audio tracks to fall asleep to. One is called Merlins Magic (The heart of Raki), the other is made up of crashing surf & whales singing.

If someone would be kind enough to PM me instructions on how to upload them here, I'll post them up.

if you are on prescription stuff, ask your doctor before trying melatonin. its a natural hormone, but just to be on the safe side.

As for illegal stuff, remember its only a twist of the pen that makes them any different from legal stuff. codeine isnt to far away from heroin in the scale of things.

to be honest, self hypnosis won't help neck pain, you're better off seeing your doctor for sleeping pills or pain killers.

it was helpful for me through childbirth, but that's because the books and theories explain that the breathing through the pain helps it to do what it needs to. In labour you are in pain for a good reason. :/

sleep deprivation is used as a method of torture, and it's no wonder why
