National Treatment Purchase FundClem, the missus had similar in her lower back-crushed disks and had an op in the Spine Clinic in England -has 8 bolts now in her back but no pain and only had discomfort for about 2 days after op and is relatively pain free now (if you exclude me).
The whole thing was done free about 7 years ago when our maggie thatcher like health minister brought in a purchase treatment scheme in an effort to beat the Irish Surgeons go slow/extra money gripe of the time.
Basically, if you were on a waiting list for more than six months you could opt for this scheme but you were taken to where an available bed was-in her case the Spine clinic which specialized in her complaint.
Drugs are not the answer as you say yourself. You're just adding side effects to an existing problem.

Lots of myths around hypnosis, my mate been doin it for years about 40.Can't get a hold of him at min to help me out. Ya can't do what you don't want to.

I had suffered for many years with insomnia, i refused to take meds for it though.. Listening to my wife was enough to send me into a coma normally. Sometimes i would be awake for several days in a row before i started to slow down.

Sometimes I would end up just going out and getting totally bladdered to comatose me, but even that to has not done the trick on occasion..

It seems to have gone away now and i can sleep without issues, i think it was previously down to worries I had about my health. As that improved and I eased up and the booze (my stress relief) i started to sleep normally again. So much so that a few weeks back i slept for 23 hours straight.

Well I did and strange people in white coats all wanted to be friends with me.
