    pet problem

one of my cats has starting peeing in the living room near corners. this has only started recently. she brought home a mouse a few weeks ago. she let it go and it scarpered somewhere in the living room. couldnt get the wee buggar so went to bed with it still in living room. went to mums next day and when we got back dead mouse was lying at the kitchen. now roxi (my cat) keeps looking for this mouse in the living room. (duh)

been to the vet - said no infection. got bottle stuff to spray on cleaned carpet but caught roxi red handed today peeing in corner and i went ballistic. she hasnt been allowed in the living room if no one is in. she doesnt pee anywhere else so i think its maybe to do with where the mouse was??

kinda clutching at straws here and b/f says she has to go.

    any advice peeps?

hopefully i will go down to the cat and dog home where we got her from 6 months ago and have a word with one of the vets tomorrow.

lainie how old is the cat is it young or old ?
if its a young cat it could be stress,if its old and drinking lots then it could have a urinal infection.
when you took him to the vets did they take urine sample to test.I dont think it anything to do with the mouse. the reason a cat brings a mouse into the house is to say thankyou to you for feeding him and looking after him, its like a present for you, usually you only get the head so he must love you lots.

Stop your cat urinating in the house

          Is it not under warranty?

This is what i used to stop some Polish cat pissing on my door mat
Soda Crystals, laundry, cleaning, water softening

The stuff burns like, hell put my hand in the packet for 0.00000.25 of a millisecond, straight in the sink - i have hands like leather!

1 yellow stain on the white crystals, topped it, up, nothing since.

Friend had a simular fault with his puddy cat - was a ants nest near it's shit box

we think she is about 6. she doesnt pee anywhere else and thats why we think it has something to do with the mouse as it was only in the living room.

i think it could be related to the mouse as well, scent marking or something like that?

i know my dog will go and pee in the room the cat has been sleeping in sometimes, he's not allowed to sleep upstairs and she is, and it's like, look at me, this is my territory.

be careful what you clean the floor with, don't use anything that has bleach in it, as that smells of ammonia and gives her the impression its okay to pee there. use biological washing powder to clean the floor and that should remove the scent, and hopefully will stop her going in there again.

edit: just read that it's carpet, not sure how the biological washing powder/liquid would affect it or if its okay to use on carpet.

                    update

used sisters vax and carpet was thoroughly washed last week (it was handwashed before that) and we sprayed carpet with stuff from the vets ?23 a bottle but we could still smell it.

cat hasnt been allowed in living room unless we are in. got up this morning and smell of pee in living room again. b/f just trying to sort sky box and put hand under unit and said fresh pee under there. i know he is going to go bananas when he comes off the phone from sky.

roxi brought home another mouse about an hour ago and i know she is getting them from the filty garden next door. i think she took the mouse back out again but not sure and yes i was home alone again when this happened earlier.

can i report his garden next door as its an overgrown jungle and im sure lots of mices in there.

going to go to cat and dog home tomorrow if i can to ask re peeing on living room carpet.

im really upset as i know b/f is going to say she has to go

                    any ideas peeps??

So it's the sky box that is pissing and making the cat get the blame for it?

If it is one place, then put some cardboard down, and try some mustard powder for a few days

Cats are feline and like tigers and lions mark their territory by spraying pee all over the place.
So, Lainie, while you are mopping the visible pee you are probably not aware of the spray put on walls and furniture which is also leaving its own smell.
P.S. I notice that you never referred to her as the 'Wee' cat/kitten.

Put a cat litter tray down for now so she pishes in that instead,
and tell the b/f to go and keep hold of your pussy

we had two cats years ago.. had to get rid of them as they started pissing everywhere, behind the couch, under the cabinets, in the kids toy boxes..

we had them for 4 years before they started doing it..

relocated them to a nice countryside farm..

when we moved from that house we noticed piss everywhere that had stained..

you can tell someone who owns cats from when you walk in.. they piss everywhere and it makes their house stink..

                            I'll never have one again..
