    Finders Keepers

Last Christmas(a few days before) we had snow in Essex and I finished late at work(pissed off) one night. Walking back to the car I noticed someone had stuff a cardboard box under the car. Naturally i thought one of the lads was having a laugh and placed it under there to see if I would drive off without noticing. Unlucky I thought as I pulled out the box which happened to be a brand new Lenovo laptop without any details on it. Also underneath was a boxed bottle of champane. Nearby were to Parcel delivery firms but there were no id marks on the items. So like a good boy I thanked Father Christmas for my present but told him he was a bit of a twat as I could have quite easily run over them.

Anybody else had the same luck..

A few years back, on a cold morning, about a week before christmas, i went to the cash machine to get some money on the way to work.
Sat on the front of it was a small brown envelope labelled only 'Dave'.
I took it, i opened it, it contained ?260.
Thanks Dave or Santa or whatever you want to be called

get all sorts of stuff left in the taxi phones laptops fags purses. Always check under the seats after weekend nightshifts and usually find 5-10 quid per week under there.

Ive found 2 wallets one with 460 quid in and a purse/wallet with 300 quid in and gold card.
I opened the wallet and it said it was made in Wales.
I picked a lady up the day before in my cab and she was from Wales and went back to the hotel from where i picked her up from and left my details.
To cut a long story short she sent me a letter telling me i restored her faith in human kindness
She sent me 20 quid for my trouble.
Can imagine what most are thinking, mug

Looking around when walking also prevents you from being run over, stabbed and a myriad of other nasty deaths!!!!

My daughter , then 10 years old , and I found a wallet near our parked car .Wanting to lead by example I promptly marched off to the local cop shop to hand it in (hoping for a reward of course)only to confronted by the owner as he reconized his wallet ,grabbing it from us and shouting " it better bloody well all be there " counting the money as he marched off ,with not even a thank you .
Amazed and disheartened I made up my mind , if that ever had to happen again ,I will just pocket it .It was a great lesson in human nature for the daughter .
Do what you can with what you have .
