Hi guys,

I am having a moral dilemma at the minute with some money I have in my account (waiting to clear)

basically i have sold some domain names to a company abroad and my asking price was ?3950.. I checked my account today to find a credit of ?33.000 with an expected clearing date of mid next week.

I have checked the currency rates on it and it seems to sort of add up right just with an extra zero on the end but missing around ?1400 which I expect is transfer fees or somat,,

What do I do because I was expecting a payment but not like this. I asked the bank for a sender details to confirm where it is from and correct but they have no sender details. They say this could be because it is international but on my acc it says it was done by cheque.

I dont want to change the domains over until I know this is kosher.

do you want my account details ?? put the excess in there and i will spend it wisely

Not heard of the scam whereby you get an overpayment from overseas?

They contact you after a while asking you to return the overspend and the whole payment turns out to be bogus after!

Yes I did from paypal

Wasn?t large amount of money but they send me ?2.00 and told me to return ?2.00 back to them and after few months they stitched me??????..

Glad you ask me, paypal making millions every secounds but stilling ?89.00 from me lying was a shock.

Sold items on ebay and the buyers paid to paypal, instead of paypal putting that money in the account already confirmed they turn around and said I was trying to put the money in the account not belonging to me, the account may be your wife or friends, parents, etc.

Now if the buyers paid money to paypal account why the hell paypal did not pay the money in my account already confirmed.

Now this gets confused, if you would answer this meat-head.

Does paypal account open for any one to take the money and put it into any ones account?

If it is in your account and you can spend it it has cleared. Dont worry about being done because it was done from abroad say you charged them ?33000 and they paid it its down to them to prove otherwise. Nice to hear someone having a bit of luck not like me at Birmingham airport with 5000 fags but thats another story.

my ex hubby got a cheque a few years ago, supposedly from a reputable company in england, looked very real, turned out to be a scam, they over pay you and ask you to refund the difference, the cheque clears for a couple of days before it gets refused in the other country and sent back, not quite sure how it works but it does.

l got 5000 from the family tax credit for no reason years back , wasnt allowed it because l has self employed and was over the limit to claim ? left in the bank for 6 months and spent it , never heard a thing

same thing happened to us, bit less that u at 'only' ?4k , moved it from current to savings account and left it for 2 weeks (couldnt stand having it there for any longer).. spunked it all up the wall in about 3 days
