been with Sky and now with BT had loads of hassle with BT and once my contract is up I will be looking elsewhere.
Before Sky I was with BT this is going back a few years ago now and loved them but there standards have seriously dropped sadly I never knew this and went back.
Also if you want non UK support call centres then BT's your man
Also new BT homehub 3.0 is not what they would make you believe. Also it cannot port forward, well it can but only for certain things.
Changed my router and runs like a dream and 100gb usage a month is more than enough for us.

I was under the impression that sky broadband used the bt line so therefore if you had problems with bt broadband then maybe you would have problems with sky. Problem unlikely to be with the provider but with your distance from the exchange.
its fine now mate and I know if your with Sky you still go through the BT exchange, I am with BT and I know it could have happened with another provider as it comes from the same source.
Internet is now stable and get between 11MB-14MB download depending on time.
The reason I do not like BT is the bad customer service and the fact that there technical team is not British (yet they are British Telecom) and the fact they do not have the correct training or know the basics of broadband. One technical worker told me my broadband was working fine because the light was blue on my homehub. Did that guy really think I pay what I do to them a month for a blue light?
BT are not the cheapest and for the price I pay I expect a quality service, when I was receiving problems I did not receive that.
Also they have restricted port forwarding on there new router, totally unacceptable.
So I had to purchase a new router to be able to port forward what I needed, I also get better speed out the router I had to buy and a much better wireless signal.
That is why I will be avoiding BT in the future.

The answer to that will likely depend on your location so its really something you need to research in your own area, preferably by talking to local customers of both.
In theory BT should be best as they have better equipment and a far better internet backbone, but not all exchanges have the latest equipment. Sky are somewhat behind in technology BUT may actually have the more advanced stuff installed in your exchange if BT haven't fitted their latest gear in your exchange yet (assuming Sky have fitted in your exchange, there are still an awful lot of places where sky operate on rented BT ADSL lines)
You also need to minutely study the t&c's of both providers to see which best suits your needs. BT tend to have far more flexible packages but Sky tend to be somewhat cheaper. Much is made of the sky 'unlimited' boast but I wouldn't put too much store in that - abuse it and they will terminate your contract, the same as any provider. I suspect sky will eventually remove that particular feature anyway as its effectively unsustainable.
THE TRUTH
The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12
Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.
