How to make business cards at home

How do you make business cards. I have a canon mg6150, very good printer, Im wondering if you can put a4 card into it and then cut out the business cards.

Or do you need a special printer for card and what good software is good for making business, preferably for mac but can access windows too.....

yes you can but to be honest by the time you buy decent card and ink, you are better off to go to vista print, can't do it yourself cheaper than their business card deals

you can get some good psd templates for photoshop and do em your self ...

as for cost all depends on the cost of ink on your printer ... if you need 100's at a time cant see you been able to under cut the pro's if your needs are less then its worth having a go to make something really individual.

little tip ... use white card ... and a white background on your card template ... printer does not need to print the white so cuts down on costs.

rather than a4 card buy the peelable a4 sheets, (not the ones with microperforated edges)

I've printed my own for years. At the moment I'm using DECAdry gloss business cards, picked them up for 29p a pack at a local shop.... ~~~~ing laughing when I cleared the shelf.

They come with a template sheet. I just set the page rulers in page plus & start building up the card. Once I have it finished it's just a case of copying & pasting till the page is full.

Doing it this way I can make changes to individual cards before printing. A friend asked me to make some for her. I ended up using 5 different background images per A4 print. Giving her a choice of cards to use. This became a collectors item among her customers...who could get the full set first. It boosted her sales a little.

If you use Vista print be careful as they sign you up for all sorts of crap and charge your credit card each month. Took me ages to get my money back for something I did NOT give them permission to take. I noticed ?9.99 on my CC bill which I knew nothing about.

Not sure how well these are going to show.

This is the first run of cards I made on the DECAdry paper. The images have since been tweaked to make them stand out a bit more & the positioning has been corrected to remove the white border that can be seen on a couple of cards. These are single sided glossy, not sure how well the camera picked up the gloss. But they are nice to hold & look at... almost like playing cards.

I designed them to be simple yet unique. Images can be changed in seconds so there can be an almost endless variety of cards.

These cards are sent with orders, so the recipients already know what products karen makes. Which for those who are interested are pagan/fantasy style necklaces, bracelets, book marks, charms, etc.
