    Why can't I buy a Tv without ...

    Giving my address.

    No address, no sale.

If it's for the Tv license then who gives Curry's, Comet etc the right to pass on my information to a third party?

I have always had a license but what has it got to do with whoever I choose to purchase a Tv from where I live and if I have License?

As it happens it's for the kids to use for gaming and karaoke.

As pointed out by bobwill...it's the law and thats what gives them the right, I bet they don't even want to do it but they can be fined serious money for failing to do it, some of the bigger names have been prosecuted before. It's a farce but once again we just have to suck it up.

Yep... definately the law mate. Retailer has to supply customer's address when selling TV equipment

              Retailer notification

I don't pay for TV licence... so I always provide a false address

i worked in a small independent tv shop 20 years ago and it was the case back then too.

for every tv that was sold a form had to filled out with the name and address of the person who bought it....

                      big brother right enough.....

There is no law which states you must give your address. There is also no law which says you must have a tv license to view live tv programs.

Welcome to the Nazi broadcasting corporation. We will take the law into our own hands.. and change them when we see fit. to force you to pay.

Try ringing them and tell them you no longer need a licence.. they wont believe you and send someone round to inspect. take their right of access away and they'l still come..
