    creative zen micro various probs

posting this here to see if any members have any info to help me rectify.bought one on ebay as spares for mine. screen frozen on zen logo as boot up, will not charge, can get to recovery screen with battery removal trick, but will not scroll have stripped down. and removed hard drive and re seated, but to no avail seems to have been opened before obviously to attempt repair as the 2 clips are missing from the main case, and screws are missing from control end of player. the only thing i am sure of is the battery which seems to hold a charge would any of you guys be able to advise me which other parts if any i can salvage from this player dont know if it's one, or a combination of faults.thank you in advance of any reply.

Take out the battery, Hold the power button on while you put the battery back in and dont let it go until a reboot menu pops up From there, try reboot if not you might have to refomat it and have to transfer all your music back on to it

    try here

update! today removed hard drive from player replaced battery.player booted to creative logo lit up like a christmas tree then light went out displaying creative logo,so then replaced battery with power button held hard over to the left went to recovery mode and hey presto could then scroll which it refused to do prior to removal of drive but unit will not turn on or off by switch, i have to remove or replace battery to allow this could a new hard drive solve my probs?any guidance would be really helpfull.

missus had a creative zen that packed in
spent hours messing with it trying to get it to work was impossible
tried every trick on the net from holding this and that button
to sticking it in the freezer

second update, managed to update firmware on this player online from creative site even though screen on player was blank all went well but still would not turn on,so removed battery and replaced it then player booted normally and asked if i wanted to play music from playlist but the downside is cannot use scroll (touch pad)does not work.but strangely if i remove drive touch pad then operates normally.... anyone ideas please.

opened up and sure enough touchpad ribbon was detached from connector replaced and crimped down with tweezers and that seems to have done the trick unit seems to be operating as it should be playing music on it now.the player looked dead when i first got it...thanks again for your feedback.
