Don't fall for the great megapixel con. In a compact camera, the quality of the lens is much more important than the number of megapixels
He who laughs last probably didn't get the joke.

            Olympus Vg-120 Review: Overview

I bought this one last year-basing it on the 14 megapixels-and it cost 99euro.
The zoom in auto/video goes out of focus but is ok in normal mode.
As regard the pixels end of it, nara is right, I've seen better/clearer pictures from camera phones though I'm not that disappointed with what I have.
PS. It's not that good on nighttime photos.

                      Depends what you want..
A small one to have all the time, to carry always and capture unexpected shots, or a serious one (SLR) to take proper photos.
Or a bridge one like the Fujifilm or Sony for a bit of both.

I had a TZ5 and it was serious compact, but didn't get along with it, and swapped it for a Nikon D70, which I hardly take anywhere now.
I will eventually get another camera, but it will be smaller with a manual setting on. The olympus pen, or sony Nex whatever...

Fully agree with Nara on this one.., my first Digi Camera, Pentax 555 was 5 mega pixel and had some great pics, would still be using it if the toerag who broke into house had not taken it.
Think my Nikon D70 is only 6 Megapixel, and the quality is class.
