My phone keeps over heating :/

as the title says, through the night my phone over heats til it gets roasting to touch.

my last phone did it too so its not just the type of phone, and i thought it only did it when it was on the charger through the night, but last night I didn't charge it and it still went really hot.

can anyone explain why this is?

Is your signal strength low, or flickering. Your phone could be struggling to maintain registration with the nearest cell. Had this a couple of years ago.

If this phone was made in china or Taiwan the polarities defer and also the charger from Far East has always been an issue.

By one made in Britain and see if that is the case.

Tools owned: Hammer, Chisel, Crowbar, Punch, Chainsaw, Cutter and Brain!!!

I'd be looking at a battery fault or a problem with the charge port.

          What phone is it?

Android phones can be over tasked with some apps & games. Especially with some of the larger processors used. The htc desire & samsung galaxy s are known for this. As is the s2 when pushed by the big games, worms & gta get mine toasty & warm.

If the phone or battery have been near water it could be a sign of a fault caused by the liquid.

Is it the battery or part of the phone that gets hot?

its the whole phone front and back, its samsung galaxy ace i have and i always end all applications with the task manager before i go to sleep. the last phone was nokia c3 - 00 and it was turned of at times (while charging) and they keypad would heat up.

could it maybe because i put it under my pillow? i still dont see how that could make it as hot as it does get though

You should not have the phone anywhere near your head unless necessary ie talking on it. If possible it shouldn't be anywhere near any part of your body like in a pocket or anything like that.

It is proven that they do cause heating of flesh and this is particularly not good for the brain or the genitalia.
