fair play to yer daughter for doing the right right thing
id want my son to do the same
but if he was an adult or me i would of kept it and see if they noticed

all in all it cost the shop nothing for saying thanks
they could of thrown her in something nice for free with her dvd player a nice set of ear phones
or an sd card that might fit into it or a few dvds

Jim, FFS mate, I thought you brought them up better than that.

You a Scouse and Gers fan and you have brought your daughter up to be honest.

            Shame on you !!!!!!!!!!!!!

            I would have kept it.

When I bought my 1st pc from comet of all places when I was 16, (longtime ago)

They sent me out 2, so I called them to say look you have sent me 2 pcs and I will store it for 1 week then I will then be charging you for storing this in my house for a further 21 day at a cost per day then it will be moved on to the street.

This is what my lawyer told me to put in writing to them.

They never did come back tho.

As Grizz said, if it was a small company I would let them know. He's spot on with how hard it is to make a living.

But if it was a big company I'd hold on to it to see what happens. Would probably order another DVD player from them as I liked the first one so much.

similar thing happened to me.. ordered LOADS of stuff, bed, wardrobes, 3 peice suite etc after i bought my house, paid by cheque, then found it all elsewhere for cheaper, so rang up argos, cancelled order, stopped cheque etc.. then about 4 weeks after, knock at the door.. argos delivery with all the stuff id ordered, told the driver id cancelled the order, but he said, ''well take it, and if they send me back to get it i will''..
                      never saw him again

I would keep it and if it was a IPhone I would torture it .

Happened to me before with a mobile and also a couple of years back me and bun ordered a netbook, netbook got delivered next day another one got delivered. Bun was all para like 'ooh no we cant keep it they will want it back, they will call us, they will come and get it'. I said it was staying and it did then after about a few months bun spilled cola in it and I ~~~~ed the other one in a temper .

If it comes to your door take it, keep your mouth shut dont tell them, there mistake there big enough to recover from it.

long story in short here fella................i lost a fruit phone, claimed on insurance. months later still no replacement. weeks later found original phone i lost, informed insuarance company. case closed. next day received phonecall from insurance company apologising for the lengthy delay but they had no i3's in stock and would i accept an i4? i replied yes and have it to this day.

chances are they will never realise their mistake. enjoyt the phone dude.

                          mick.

Her honesty is commendable but I would have kept it and advised anybody else to do the same.

                                Thanks for comments peeps.

I was very proud of the decision she made, even though I think I may have waited to see if they caught on to their mistake.

She was also concerned that maybe someone ordered a phone and got a cheap dvd player with an invoice for a phone.
