    Can I just ask...

    who buys music anymore?

i cant remember the last time i bought a cd, i dont even own a cd player, and i dont even d/l songs either payed for or otherwise. all the songs i want to own i already do. my ipod hasnt been updated in years, i like the nostalgia it holds. plus the laptop that has the itunes in it is long gone.

but saying that i dont even know anyone who does either, if i like a song i just play it on youtube on the telly.

so how do songs these days reach number one in the charts? who out there is still buying music?

some people still buy dvds or its downloads now i believe and that may effect the songs for the nos.1 spot,i have not bought a music dvd for years ,on my pc with provider i have access to alot of music and can make my own music library on their server so no downloads to pay and all above board, its nice to blast out sound from a pc tower and 5-1 sound system and twin subwoofers in a tower resting on wooden floor, wow.

I can't understand why I could go to a music site and d/l a track by an artist for free, the title of which I didn't know, whereas I was desperate to get the song and would have had no hesitation in buying 5 or 6 cds just to find it.

Chelsea i think as we get older we just keep going back more and more to the stuff we listened to when we first got into music. I still listen to floyd clapton oasis etc all the time. The loss of top of the pops means i never know what is number one but i dont know if i want to.

Johnboys got it there. Being of a similar age, I too listen more to the tracks of my past. The last thing I downloaded was the soundtrack to The Mask..

(did I just say that out loud?!!)

The amount of shite being released now is enough to overload even the biggest of sewage treatment plants.

I'm also sick of seeing adverts for 'Artists' with their debuet album that includes the smash hits... blah, blah, blah.
When did they become hits? I've never even heard of the track, never mind the artist. I'm not that much of a hermit...I do have a social life that involves pubs & clubs.

While we're on the subject, Michael Bubbley..... who the ~~~~ said he could sing! I was caught unaware just before christmas & had to listing to him killing some good christmas songs. He is not & never will be Frank Sinatra. And I thought Michal Ball was bad... all is forgiven Mr Ball.
