Raging toothache

I think it's a gum infection.
I seem to get it at the back where wisdom teeth come through.Had it before and the pain is as bad as toothache. Its near a crown though so it may be the tooth or just my gum.

Taking amoxicillin at the moment to see if it goes down.

i used to get terrible abscesses under my wisdom teeth on one side of my mouth, had to get the wisdom teeth removed in the end

hope it works out okay for you, but if it flares up again after taking antibiotic you really need to see your dentist

I've had my wisdom teeth out. It seems fine now and I've chugged 5 cans with no problems. Its my gums again,I usually get this 2-3 times a year.
Suffer in agony for a week or so and then it dies down again.

What has worked for me and most people have it in there cupboard is Almond or Vanilla Extracts Food coloring, you pour some on your finger and rub it in the infected area and the pain is gone which allows you to at least sleep, but you really need to see a dentist as soon as possible. Good Luck.

Glad you're out of pain aleister.
I've been following your thread but had nothing new to add in the way of a remedy.
You'll have to double your effort to enjoy the New Year celebrations to make up for the ruined Christmas from the pain.

Pain killers are your friend. I had an abcess about 6 weeks ago, ended up taking full doses of co-codamol (30/500) & Ibuprofen (400mg) rotating ever 2 hours. Didn't feel a ~~~~ing thing for the entire day.

Also try a hot water bottle on your face, or ice cold water through a straw...let it wash over the bad area.

Do you know if it's a tooth problem or an infection?

is there a possiblity that there was an abscess under the wisdom teeth that was never drained properly, and flares up periodically?

might need an x-ray and to be lanced?
