    Hi mate,

    I use caxtonfx card

I was told about it by a few people who swear by them.

I currently have my spending money on a $ card for Florida.

Its free withdrawals if in the country or zone your card is setup for.

Its acts just the same way any mastercard or visa card does.

I got a card for me and the mrs, think i paid a extra ?5 for the 2nd card.

You can check balance online, by phone and even top up by txt.

Once you apply for your card you setup your back account details so that you can transfer by the above means.

        Daithi,

Have a Swirl Mastercard.Works exactly the same as a normal credit card, with 2x slight differences, one which wouldn't work for you on holiday somewhere.

        1. You've got to put funds onto the card via a loading card, which you physically have to do in the shop,in IRELAND !

        2. ~~~~ers charge you for everything,including adding funds to your card,around ?3.

        3. They debit a small amount every month if the card isn't used every so often.

Other than that, works perfectly, and you avoid credit card charges with Ryanair too.

I dont think the caxton card has any fees.

Only if you use it to withdraw in the UK and you have say a $ card.

                    Other than thats its nothing.

They aren't outlawed, they are just not allowed to charge excessive amounts. Debit charges should only cost 20p/30p maximum and credit cards will be more but are capped at 2% of the total. They reckon most won't bother charging for debit cards...but a whole lot of 20ps adds up I guess so we will have to wait and see.

You can bet your life they will rise ticket prices to compensate. I saw the interview with some campaigner against these charges and they suggested to her the companies would just put prices up...she said thats fine, as long as you know what you are paying and wont get hit with hidden charges.
