Taking a 2yr old abroad on holiday!!!

    Hi folks,

Does anyone have any experience with taking a 2yr old abroad on holiday?

Any advice you can offer with regards to locations or board type?

Been looking at First Choice holiday villages and they look great but quite expensive for all inclusive.

Did you think all inclusive was a good deal?

    Thanks for any advice.

Menorca is nice and quite, thats were we 1st took ours abroad.
As for board, First Choice only do all inclusive now and tbh...a 2 year old won't really get the benefits from it.
If it was me, I would be looking self catering, a lot of hotels also do self catering so you dont necessarily have to go to apartments. That way you know what the childs eating habits are and can cater for it yourself.

Salou is also great for kids, even that age can enjoy Port Aventura.

you should be looking at a free child place if you got half board , full board or all inclusive

I have always found all inclusive good value , but as mentioned a 2 year old wont get much benefit from it apart from drinks and ice cream depending where you go

la pineda is better than salou and the bus can take you to port aventura , la pineda is flat with a good long prom , and aqua park too , we stayed at the DONAIRE and I would recommend it as its right on the beach at the end of the prom

sunny beach in bulgaria is also good for families and they love the kids there too , still good value for money

might be some good deals in tunisia for all inclusive , and I would recommend a hotel called the SAHARA BEACH at Skanes , not too far from the old airport , not sure since they opened the new airport on distance to travel by coach. has a small zoo outside that should keep the kiddie amused, and right on the beach with several pools.

I would also recommend alcudia in majorca , again flat with long prom and harbour/port too.

if you fancied turkey then icmeler and olu deniz are great for families , or the all inclusive aqua fantasy near kusadasi

            hope that helps

We brought our young lad to Salou a while back, he must av been bout 2/3. All inclusive, but mainly for me & the missus. He didn't really like the food, so we ended up eating out a good bit anyway.
We were about ten mins walk from the beach, which was great, cause we didn't see too many piss heads . The hotel had plenty of entertainment for the kids too. If your really mad into night life, you could just walk to the beach area, but seeing as your bringing your 2 year old, I doubt you'll be disco dancing

Ps also go to a pound shop before you leave & buy a load of little toys, give the kid a new toy every time he/she gets bored, that way you'll be able to relax on the flight too.

Dont go to Disneyland with A 2 Year old , wait till the nippier is about 5 or they wont appreciate it as much when older.

Benidorm , or some other Spanish resort with a good kidi club programme, even places like Turkey ( who love kids ).

I always wanted to try a kidi cruise, Nikelodeon have a cruise for the kids, and its all about the kids..

This day and age my main tip when taking a nipper abroad is , " never take your eyes of them for 1 minute " too many sicko`s in this world" Even take them with you when you go out on the pi5s, just take a pushchair

I agree with Jaffa about Minorca being nice for kids and with ramjet about la pineda in spain, alucdia in majorca and icmeler in turkey, I've took our kids to all of the above places when the were young and can recommend them, I'm sure the other recommendations are as good as well but haven't been so cant comment.

Another place I'd recommend is palma nova in majorca, in fact majorca on the whole is very child friendly, give magaluf a miss tho .

Thanks everyone for your advice, that's fantastic.

We're looking at a first choice holiday village in Benalmadina, Costa Del Sol, (I think ). Yeah kids free places are available so that's a bonus.

                      Thanks again...

Benalmadena is a good choice, we were there and it was very good, kids loved it and so did we.

Theres a decent marine park there and a couple of theme parks, Tivoli park was cheaper than most theme parks but my kids were young then but it had plenty to entertain young children.

That was a good few years ago, so it may have changed but if you go, get the ticket that has unlimited rides, even for the young un.

I would be looking at Spain or the Balearics with it only being a 2 hour flight, majorca this year I think for me as my little one will only be about 1 so don't want a long flight
