I stoked my wood burning stove right up this morning and the chimney caught fire.
had to phone the fire brigade to put it out
then had to get my chimney swept this afternoon
friday the thirteenth indeed

Good start to a day at work, set to finish about 1:30pm great we think. Got on to M5 and guess what? Blow out on inner rear tyre - 3 hours later tyre company gets both rears replaced. Only just got back home 30 min ago. So friday 13th wasn't lucky for us.

I find it lucky for me as its the date i was born friday 13th. always put it on lotto and always have a good birthday when it falls on friday the 13th, and did you now when the month starts on a sunday you will always get a friday 13th in that month

Theyre becoming quite popular again now.. why use the blue paper bin when you can burn the shit on the fire??


We as a family whilst i was growing up had no boiler in our house.. no insulation.. no cavity wall.. There was a few dead pigeons in the loft which our cat Garfield had caught whilst on his errands.. We burnt coal in all rooms.. to keep warm.. and tbh.. if truth be known.. you actually feel allot warmer with a real fire as you can see it.. radiators are a dying breed hopefully.

And whilst living like that we didnt suffer from colds like we do today.. it was only when the traditional boiler came along that this became a problem.. Due to going in and out into hot and cold climates.
