If it is a clone I doubt very much it will have a manufacture warranty.

Also he may not accept returns (but that will only apply if you want to return it for no good reason) If a item is new and faulty then a seller has the responsibility to replace or refund that item. If the item is second hand the law is bought as seen but if the add did not mention HDMI port to be faulty then you are entitled to a replacement and if that cannot be done then you should be refunded.

What is the issue with the HDMI port?

Since I lost money buying and selling items on ebay, I will never ever buy or sell on ebay or paypal.

You can find most dealers cheaper then buying from ebay and guarantee return when things go wrong.

How you are going to get the money from a passing stranger?

Take a loss and learn from the mistake.

totally disagree if the guy has bought a receiver from some guy that hasnt even bothered to get his receivers from a decent supplier or properly check them himself then he should do his best to get a refund. No doubt this guy has paid close to ?200 from this receiver so not a small purchase.

I agree that I would not suggest PayPal as a place to make such a large order though.

But the end of the day if he can get a refund too right the item is faulty.

believe it or not you have more rights buying online than form your local shop
if you buy something online and dont like it you can return it once not damaged but you pay for shipping etc
go to your local citizens info they will sort ya
there was a discussion about this on the radio just before christmas as people would be buying items online Consumer Rights

                            Hi Kevin,

The best thing is check if warranty is there if you cant find that purchase check the paypal if paid with it to obtain information.
after this step send few emails to the person u bought from if he doesnt reply in few days call ebay from their contact us menu you will find a phone number there.
Speak to customer Support give you Ebay ID and if you have then give you product ID to find it or At least the date. Once all good complain that you have not received the service that you expect. I got the 25 pound voucher when i did these steps and also a reminder by ebay was sent to the seller. after few days i got new Replacement from him as well as well as the 25 pound voucher by ebay to spend on ebay.I did complain them a warranty by manufacturer and also your statutory rights any new item mostly comes with warranty. if person says he cant except return fine ask him to releases info of manufacturer to call them to ask replacement
                            Good luck.

Right suppose I sold you dm800se and you or the seller have modified the box for illegal use then how you are going to take it with the manufacture?

I have learn another lesson, if you have to buy any thing from internet you have to buy from a firm or a shop with a valid address.

I suppose you can not even find a valid address of paypal or ebay to bring the matter in contest.

They tell you to argue over the email and end of the day the ~~~~ off.
