wouldn't call it cowardly mate, i don't think i could do it no matter how bad things were.

got to agree it's selfish to take others with you, or even to give no consideration to the method of suicide and the effect it has on others.

personally i'd sooner run away from it all, start a new life somewhere else. TBH i'd rather be sent down for something and see if life inside is any better, if "normal" life is that bad and making you want to kill yourself, can it really be any worse?

I like the post about going out as a hero.

How do you run away from a mental illness?

are your problems really that bad that you should take your own life?
Do these people have no concern for the hurtand pain they leave behind?
especially this bloke you mentioned. in front of his parents?!?
not bad enough that they've got to live with the fact that their son commited suicide but they had to watch it.
worse are those people whose method of suicide is to walk onto a motorway and get themselves killed by a truck. Imagine if you were the driver who killed them. imagine having that on your conscience. imagine you do your best to avoid hitting them and end up having an accident which kills somebody else, maybe even yourself because of these selfish people.
worse still are those that feel the end of a relationship is a good enough reason to take not only their own life but the lives of their children aswell.
It's all very well pointing out that these people often aren't in any state of mind to think about the consequences of their actions but it doesn't make it any less selfish.
In any case if someone is that imbalanced they would know that they need help before they take it to extremes such as these. a family member should at least have noticed.
These people do not just snap adn wake up one morning with the desire to kill themselves. Nor do they behave normally leading to up it.
          Selfish.
I used to feel exactly the same when I was young. As I've got older I've come to realize that it's not so clear cut and that you can never predict what you would contemplate in certain circumstances.

In the last 20 years my son has had acute myeloid leukaemia twice and also underwent a heart transplant and believe me I've been down there and suicide seemed the only option.

I'd never had any mental problems before that and to be honest I'd always looked at others and thought "pull yourself together"

Family members can notice when you're depressed but I don't think anyone believes another family member is capable of having suicidal thoughts. I suppose it's all so easy when looking back or standing on the outside.

I now feel it's a very sad situation when someone decides to take their own life and not complete selfishness as I once thought.

Or is it? My money is turning to dust because of this stupid crisis, I may lose my job soon and even if I don't, the money I make is not gonna worth anything. My mom's an alcoholic, my dad is getting older too. If they die, there's gonna be no reason for me to stay in this world.

ps. having watched Zeitgeist Addendum, is it really worth it to live just to be another slave?

well i stand by what i said earlier " life is too valuable" because you only have one. You must get thru the low times in life to truly enjoy the highs!

Im grateful everyday that im able to wake up!
