This country is a joke when it comes to winter... how can we run out of salt/grit.... how come public transport comes to a standstill, how come the schools all get closed.. I am not that old so when i start saying 'when i was young' we are not talking so far back, but i never got a day of school due to snow and i had to wear shorts at school until I was 12.. Buses and trains seemed to work (if they were not on strike)... ~~~~ knows about the salt as i was too young to give a toss or know what it was for and my action man and spud gun were more interesting..
Lets not forget previous years,,, the wrong kind of snow, do you remember that one... and leaves on the line.... any excuse to bunk a day of work... or am i missing a trick here....Last edited by caveman_nige; 6 February, 2009, 09:01. -

as for the schools the law says its up to the headmaster weather to open or shut the schools so most shut they are afraid of being prosecuted if a kid falls over a hurts themselves, this prosecute at the slightest thing stems from bloody america its a joke.i know 1 bloke who was p-ssed at the time he was stood in the middle of the road not at a crossing or anything he was clipped by a car didnt get hurt and he got over ?2000 out of court compo. This country is a joke when it comes to winter... how can we run out of salt/grit.... how come public transport comes to a standstill, how come the schools all get closed..
