Legal high's

that video is disgusting, why anyone would want to get in that state and look like just complete retards is beyond me...
as with the chemical legal highs, watched a programme on them the other night. the people making them don't give a shit what goes into them. as soon as they become banned they tweak the recipe so its legal again.
the 'miaow miaow' or moonshine one was being sold to school age kids in the local sex shop for a fiver, just because its legal doesn't mean its safe. one kid killed himself after taking it, one guy ripped his scrotum off in a nightclub while tripping, thinking he had centipedes all over him and not to mention the at least half dozen kids that died from taking it, including a family member of mine, needless to say it was banned just weeks after his death. would he have taken it had it been illegal sooner? maybe, maybe not. but the fact that it went to getting sold at 8 times the shop bought price once banned probably says otherwise.
its just not worth the risk.

There needs to be laws in place that state even if these chemicals are tweaked they should still be illegal. They get around the law by stating on the packets that it is not for human consumption.
Personally I think a good way to tackle the rise in legal highs would be to legalise the older drugs that we know about and are well tested, that would also provide more income to the to the UK, would mean we know what people are taking, cut down on crime and hopefully put a stop to these legal highs that we know nothing about. We know the side effects and long term damage etc of the well known drugs we do not know this with the legal high's. The well known drugs could be safer if legal and regulated.

stupidest idea ever, its bad enough drunk people getting in your face on a Friday night. but to have someone tripping out their face trying to attack you thinking your a giant mars bar chasing them... because its legal for them to do so... i bloody well don't think so!
there are a thousand and one other ways people can have a good time and enjoy themselves. they're just too lazy to go find them.

As mentioned although being legal there should still be laws in place the same way there is laws against smoking in certain areas, drink driving, drinking in the street.
Also not every drug makes you trip. Whats so wrong with cannabis for instance, you dont get violent cannabis smokers but you certainly do get violent drunks.
Alcohol and smoking both individually kill more people each year than any illegal substance.
We the tax payer pay billions to fight 'the war on drugs', that is not going to be won theres not a chance in hell that war will ever and I mean ever be won. So why not start making people safe by legalising some drugs dont even need to be them all, make money in doing so.
I like the odd smoke I personally do not see it as a crime, I pay for it with my own money that I work to earn, I smoke out the garden or in the hut.... i am doing no one any harm.
End of the day legalising some drugs would stop the demand for these stupid legal high's that no one has a clue about. If the right laws are put in place to say were it can be purchased, were it can be taken etc then why not?
Look at Holland for instance, they go easy on drugs and guess what there crime rate on drugs is extremely low.
In a ideal world there would be no drugs but there is so its by time that they are controlled.
I think it is by time our government woke up and realise this war on drugs wont be won....Anyone that thinks the war on drugs will be won are deluded.Last edited by garry1312; 28 February, 2012, 15:57.

because with drugs its not known how differently peoples reaction to them are going to be, or how long the effects will last for.
yes there is a lot of research been done. but that doesn't mean they know everything about it. personally the fact that there has been so much research done there are wishes for them to be illegal, im not going to question it.
there are far more important things in life than taking drugs or making drugs legal.
id sooner see people paying slys disgusting prices than seeing drugs legalized

at the end of the day its peoples own choices what they do be it legal or not. and please don't be so naive to think the government aren't making money off it cause they're making plenty

Portugal had a play with this recently, it was an interesting experiment as they're the only country, so far, to have done before and after surveys.
They found :
Increased uptake of treatment.
Reduction in HIV diagnoses amongst drug users by 17%
Reduction in drug related deaths, although this reduction has decreased in later years, and the number of drug related deaths is now almost on the same level as before the Drug strategy was implemented. However, this may be accounted for by improvement in measurement practices, which includes a doubling of toxicological autopsies now being performed, meaning that more drugs related deaths are likely to be recorded.
Lifetime use of illicit drugs increased from 7.8% to 12%, lifetime use of cannabis increased from 7.6% to 11.7%, cocaine from 0.9% to 1.9%, ecstasy from 0.7% to 1.3%, and heroin from 0.7% to 1.1% It has been proposed that this effect may have been been related to the candor of interviewees, who may have been inclined to answer more truthfully due to a reduction in the stigma associated with drug use. Statistical trends in neighboring Spain and Italy during the same period also suggested an unclear relation between decriminalization and increased drug use, comparatively.
Drug use among adolescents and "problematic" users declined.
Drug-related criminal justice workloads decreased, while the amount of drugs seized increased in quantity.
Decreased street value of most illicit drugs, some significantly.Comment

Your experience with drugs is textbook material or off the back of a Talk To Frank leaflet, not having a dig but that is very clear.because with drugs its not known how differently peoples reaction to them are going to be, or how long the effects will last for.

I am not going to argue over it either as I agree with what I am saying if there was something done some drugs legal then there would be no need for idiots to try and replicate the original drugs with legal highs. The legal high situation is only going to get worse and there is no telling how they will effect people in years to come, at least with previous drugs we have a better idea how they effect people, what issues they may cause in the future and we know how to deal with overdoses and so on which the same cant be said for these legal high's.
Young people buy these legal high's because they believe they are legal they must be safe, they also believe they are safe from the law.
Now you was told the same a doctor would rather deal with someone that has overdosed on a known drug, E's, speed, herion whatever because they know what they are dealing with and how to deal with it they do not with these legal highs.
So although drugs are not intirely safe they are much safer than these legal high's and the medical profession know a lot more about them.
The trend of Legal high's has caught on and while drugs are illegal we will continue to see these makers of the Legal highs try to replicate them. So make them legal and stop them right in there tracks.
Yes at the end of the day if someone wants to do them they will legal or not so at least lets make it safer and not fuel crime.
Also I did not say the government are or are not making money out of the drug trade I had no reason to, that would be off topic.Last edited by garry1312; 28 February, 2012, 16:44.

Garry that has got to be the most ignorant thing I've ever heard!
because i don't take drugs, my opinion isn't valid?
my opinion as a mum and the type of future i want for my son is extremely valid.
and as for money, it was you who mentioned it and i quote ' So why not
start making people safe by legalising some
drugs dont even need to be them all, make
money in doing so' and it was you who went off topic in the first place by even mentioning illegal drugs.
so get off your high horse (pun intended) and actually look at the bigger picture.
how long will it be after they do make them legal that the number of neo natal deaths increase, the number of children born with defects because they are legal so that must mean theyre safe will increase?
just because you are 'sensible' about doesn't mean everyone else is or will be.
