n e way heres the final email from the big guys MS themselfs no less
Hello Barry,
Thank you for taking the time to forward these images in separate e-mails. Unfortunately, based on the photographs you provided our analysts have concluded that you have received counterfeit reproduction components. Counterfeit manufacturers have been able to create software components that are deceptively similar to Microsoft software. By duplicating the appearance of Microsoft's trademarked designs, and copying the software program onto the components, counterfeiters are able to deceive customers into believing the components they are distributing are authentic Microsoft. However, while they are able to recreate the general appearance of the software, counterfeiters commonly make mistakes in the finer details of the design of the text and logos printed on the disc and the jewel case liners. Comparing your photographs to known genuine standards, our investigators noted a number of errors, leading to the conclusion that these components are not authentic Microsoft.
At this stage, I would recommend that you contact the vendor from whom these components were obtained to request a refund. Because the distribution of counterfeit merchandise is a serious violation of copyright and trademark laws, your supplier should be held accountable for the original illegal transaction, and you should be entitled to a refund of your expense. If you need assistance with that process, you may wish to consult your attorney for guidance in recouping your losses. If you have any additional questions or concerns, or if our team can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thank you.
