Danny Boyle has announced that the Olympic Stadium will be transformed into "the British countryside" for the Olympic Opening Ceremony on the 27 July, featuring farmyard animals and fake rain.
The filmmaker's quirky sense of humour is evident in his plans for the ceremony, which feature 70 sheep, 12 horses, 10 chickens, three sheep dogs, real grass and a plough.
There is also a game of cricket, a mosh pit and fake clouds which will rain on performers.
More than 10,000 volunteers have been enlisted to help create Boyle's vision, and the Opening Ceremony is likely to be watched by one billion people.
