    car boot sales

Anyone here do car boot sales, have piles of stuff here pc bits golf gear and other stuff, but piles of books in good condition, just want to know from experience, how I should price the stuff, is it proper to fix a price and stick to it, or take what's offered for a sale. Also any idea what price to mark up on good quality books ?

have a rough idea of what you want for the stuff, mark it down in a notepad, along with the least youd accept. DO NOT mark stuff up with a price, it scares people off, as they see a price and dont think they have any haggle room.

ive done car boots selling my old stuff with no price and come away with upwards of ?250.

Ive also done boots with brand new stuff, marked up and come away with ?20

in my experience, marked prices make people think you have no wiggle room, your pc stuff and golf stuff should sell well, be prepared to bring a load of books back tho

i used to do them quite regular back when we had summers most of my customers were kids buying my football cards but every adult wants to haggle so i always asked higher than i wanted to allow them to haggle me down,if you see any old football cards and sticker albums pick them up for me!

I thought the Blakeston one was shut down a few years ago.

Done a couple at Blochairn in Glasgow.
Made good money and had a good laugh doing it. Got rid of loads of stuff just lying around. Worse thing was the 4am start to get a good position in the queue.
